An uplifting playlist (and a special free gift!)

Published by Peter on

I needed an uplifting playlist today.

Tuesday is April Fools Day, but because every day in America feels like a prank gone awry right now, I needed a boost this morning.

So I created a playlist with songs that inspire me or just get my blood moving.

Icon for Hire, Sacramento, 2017

What songs always lift you up? What songs do you turn to when you need a boost of energy to break out of stagnation, or to leap at that next goal?

I’m genuinely curious… partly because I like to get a sense of the art that speaks to people, and partly because I’m always open to great, new-to-me music.

My uplifting playlist

A few songs that always lift me up are Steer by Missy Higgins (coolest concert I have attended), Closer to Fine by the Indigo Girls, Weightless by All Time Low, and P¡nk’s Raise Your Glass.

A woman in a red gown sits at a grand piano in a rock concert, her back to us. It's Amy Lee of Evanescence, one of the songs in my uplifting playlist.

Their song “The Only One” was one of the inspirations for my novel Lifelike, which gets it on the playlist.

I asked for ChatGPT’s help in creating the playlist, but to be honest I was unimpressed with most of its suggestions. Still, a few songs I had not known before made it on to my uplifting playlist. We’ll see if they stand the test of time and repetition.

Here is the playlist, in case you want a listen. (Free gift below the playlist.)

As a bonus for reading this post, check out this amazing video with six super simple ways to be an extraordinary leader without using AI. I cannot recommend this video highly enough. It has changed the way I approach several things, and I am naturally a skeptic about things like this. In fact, I keep going back to it.
